You must hold a valid license in the state where you intend to work. If you're interested in working in a different state, don't worry—we can assist you with that. Further details can be found below.

Following your completion of a nursing program, you'll need to successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).

Work Experience

To become a travel nurse, you should have a minimum of one year of experience in your specialized field, preferably gained in a hospital setting. Some hospitals may have additional criteria, so it's advisable to discuss your experience level with your recruiter to find assignments that align with your qualifications.

Compliance Requirements

Once you secure an assignment, your credentialing specialist will guide you through the nursing compliance requirements that follow.

Vaccination Records & Physical Exam

Before commencing an assignment, you will be required to undergo a physical examination and provide documentation of a recent TB test and specific vaccinations. Your credentialing specialist can arrange for any essential vaccinations or laboratory tests as well as your physical examination.

Typically, a drug screen is required within 30 days of the assignment's start date and annually if you remain at the same facility. Your credentialing specialist will assist you in scheduling any required appointments.
